HBD Minor League Baseball: 7/9 NL League News, Notes, and MiLB Power Rankings

The All-Star break is upon us, and it's time to review the first half.

NL News and Notes:
- Gil Tunkel has led the way for the Memphis RedBirds. In 17 starts, Tunkel already has 13 wins to go with his 0.90 WHIP and 1.80 ERA. All three lead the league. Tunkel was the key free agent signing for Memphis, where he had played in Colorado Springs, Salem, and most recently Trenton.
- Toledo leads the North by 2 games over Burlington. Buffalo is still lurking at 9 games back.
- Durham leads by 4 over Indianpolis.
- Little Rock has stepped up to challenge Memphis in the South. They now trail by 2 games.
- Colorado Springs has started to pull away in the West. Their lead is now 7 games over Las Vegas.
- Looking at potential playoff teams, Buffalo and Las Vegas have surprising indicated they could be looking to next year and are selling. Surprising considering both teams are in the wild card hunt. If the playoffs were start today:
Toledo, Burlington, Durham, Memphis, Little Rock, and Colorado Springs. Buffalo (2 games out), Syracuse (5 games out), Indy (5 games out), and Las Vegas (5 games out).
- Marc Cameron (CSP), and Tyler Ball (VC) have 26 homeruns on the year to lead the NL. Cameron leads all in OPS with 1.007.
- Christan Miller (BUF) leads the RBI race with 79. Pedro Montanez and Greg Menechino of Burlington trail with 74 and 68.
- Enrique Lucano has 49 steals in Burlington. He also shares the longest hit streak (20) with Derrick Kulik.
- Vin Kerr (Vegas) leads the league with 26 saves. Ringo Clapp (Tol) leads league with 110 K's.
